Sakura is the Japanese cherry blossom. Small, delicate, and worked in a finer yarn on a 1.0mm hook, which gives the petals their characteristic lightness.

This crochet sakura pattern is built for repetition. A single blossom takes very little time; the effect comes from making many and arranging them along a branch, which is where the assembly instructions earn their place.

A branch of blossom across a shelf or a mantelpiece is the obvious use. They also work scattered as table decoration for a spring wedding, or as a single sprig in a bud vase.

How do I download the pattern?

How do I find the right yarn?

This one calls for 4 ply · Sport · 5 ply with a 1.0 mm hook. The brand matters far less than working firmly and evenly.

Some patterns also need easily found craft materials such as floral wire, floral tape and a glue gun.

What language is the pattern written in?

English only, in US standard terms. If you're comfortable with charts you can work most of the flower from those alone, with the photographs to help.
