The daffodil has six petals and a trumpet, and it's the flower that means winter is over. This is one of Natagor's most popular patterns, which she puts down to people simply loving spring flowers.

The trumpet is the difficult part of any crochet daffodil, and it's where most of these forty-four pages go. Worked in DK on a 1.5mm hook, with the shaping done after blocking.

Daffodils suit a jug rather than a vase, in a loose bunch of five or more. They also work as a single stem on a desk, which is more than most flowers can carry off.

How do I download the pattern?

The PDF is available to download the moment payment clears, and a copy is sent to the email address you use at checkout. If you lose the file later, you can request it again with that same address.

How do I find the right yarn?

This one calls for DK · light worsted · 8 ply with a 1.5 mm hook. The brand matters far less than working firmly and evenly.

Some patterns also need easily found craft materials such as floral wire, floral tape and a glue gun.

What language is the pattern written in?

English only, in US standard terms. If you're comfortable with charts you can work most of the flower from those alone, with the photographs to help.
