The wild tulip has pointed petals that open wide, rather than the closed cup of a garden variety. More angular, more vivid, and closer to what tulips looked like before they were bred for florists.

This crochet wild tulip pattern suits an advanced beginner. The open shape is more forgiving than a closed cup, and the thirty-six pages include plenty of step-by-step assembly.

They look best slightly irregular, the way they grow. A windowsill pot of three or four in different colours is the arrangement they're made for.

How do I download the pattern?

How do I find the right yarn?

This one calls for DK · light worsted · 8 ply with a 1.5 mm Steel Thread Hook hook. The brand matters far less than working firmly and evenly.

Some patterns also need easily found craft materials such as floral wire, floral tape and a glue gun.

What language is the pattern written in?

English only, in US standard terms. If you're comfortable with charts you can work most of the flower from those alone, with the photographs to help.
